Questions Homeowners Ask Us

Plain answers from Trailhead Handyman. If your question is not here, ask it through the contact form.

What kinds of jobs does Trailhead Handyman take?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

Small and medium repairs and installations around the house: drywall patches, door adjustments, fixture swaps, TV mounting, furniture assembly, fence and gate repair, and the running punch list most homes collect. Work that needs a licensed electrician, plumber, or roofer is outside our scope, and we will tell you so before you book.

How do I get a price?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

Send your list through the contact form with a photo of each item. We reply with any questions, then confirm the scope and the price with you in writing before the visit. Nothing starts until you have agreed to it.

Which areas do you serve?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

We serve homeowners across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. If you are not sure whether your address is inside our range, send it with your request and we will confirm before anything is scheduled.

Can I combine several small jobs into one visit?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

Yes, and it is the best way to use a handyman. One visit that covers the loose towel bar, the sticking door, and the shelf that never got hung costs less than three separate trips. Send the whole list and we will plan the visit around it.

Do I need to buy the materials?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

Either way works. If you have already picked a faucet, a fan, or paint, have it on site and we install it. If you would rather we pick up standard parts such as anchors, caulk, hinges, and lumber, say so when you request the quote and we include them.

Will a drywall patch show?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

A finished patch should blend into the wall. We match the existing texture, whether orange peel, knockdown, or smooth, and paint the repair out to a natural break so the sheen does not flash in the light. Bring the original paint if you have it, or we color match from a chip.

Can you mount a TV on brick or over a fireplace?

Draft copy: awaiting client approval

Usually, yes. Brick and stone take masonry anchors, and a mount over a fireplace needs a stud or a rated backer behind the mantel. Send a photo of the wall and the TV size with your request and we will confirm the right mount before the visit.
